The waiting is over for Max & Zak

Back

Now they say that every dog has it's day but two together on the same day is just so special but on Tuesday 6th October 2009 it was certainly a very special day for 8 year old brothers Max & Zak.

The pair were rescued from the Wyre Forest area in Worcestershire by Happy Staffie Rescue in July 2009 and their previous owner informed us that they were inseparable and lived for each other, this was quickly picked up by the fantastic team at Birch Hill Kennels where the dogs are looked after and work started to find them a loving new home together. Now we have heard of some rescues splitting pair dogs to make it easier to get them rehomed but as many of you know that our volunteers love to take on a challenge and we were going to do everything we could to make sure they spend the rest of their lives together.

We are delighted to report that the pair have found just what they were looking for as they were offer a loving new home with a family in Kidderminster. The boys set off at 4pm on Tuesday 6th October and could not wait to get into their new mode of transport, it was as if the boys knew they were on their way to a wonderful new life. There was just enough time for them to kiss (more like bath) their new mum before they settled in for the journey.

The successful homing of Max & Zak to such a great family has put a huge spring in our step and made us realise even more that there is a real need for us to exist, with many rescues filled to bursting point and not taking on dogs from private homes who know what future Max & Zak could have faced.

We would like to say a huge thanks to the family for offering them such a great home, to Birch Hill Kennels/Birch Hill Dog Rescue for the love and care they have shown to Max & Zak and all the other dogs, to the volunteers and supporters that have made this life saving effort possible.

We know that Max & Zak would also say thanks if they could!
