We were delighted to receive an email from supporter Craig Maskell asking
if he could help us raise vital funds to help the dogs in our care.
Craig had decided to run The Redcar Half Marathon
on Sunday 12th June 2011. The course started and finished on the Redcarr seafront and was a grueling 13.1 miles.
Craig has experience of giving a home to an unwanted Staffie when he took on 2 year old Archie seven years ago, giving
him a loving second chance that so many Staffies are in need of. Sadly Craig lost his 9 year old Staffie Archie
to a tumour in his tummy. Archie was an outgoing lively dog who had a great personality, and was very vibrant.
Archie
could have easily ended up in a rescue centre or on the streets. There are so many dogs and puppies like Archie who end up
without homes and all these dogs need care and attention.
Craig gave Archie his second chance, but many dogs also
need a second chance at a loving home.
"By running the Redcar Half Marathon on June 12 2011 Craig wanted
to raise some money to help Happy Staffie Rescue save and rehome Staffordshire bull terriers, because all Staffies deserve
to be happy." Today Craig continues his love of Staffies with Rocky.
Happy Staffie Rescue
gratefully welcomes this wonderful offer to help those stray, abandoned and neglected Staffies in need of help.
Craig
completed the 13.1 mile run in a fantastic 1 hour and 57 minutes. Craig also raised an amazing £170
for the dogs in our care and has truly helped to give them a second chance.
We would like to say a very special
thanks to Craig for the effort he has put in to raising this money and for the care and support he has shown to the Staffie
breed.
